You may only see Ian around occasionally. His work is done mostly behind the scenes, but just in case you end up wondering who that bloke is, it's just Ian doing this or that.

Belinda Dawkins

Early Childhood Teacher

Growing up as the eldest of five children, there was always plenty of kids and noise in my house. I grew up in a small coastal town on the mid north coast where kids roamed free and spent hours outside.
After school I spent my twenties working in various social welfare roles, primarily working with disadvantaged children and families. I began working in centre based services 9 years ago and I love it.
I am married to Adam and we have a cheeky almost 3 year old daughter named Annabel (or Annie) and a very needy staffy whom we call Doggie.
I am in my final 6 months of my Bachelor of Education (Birth to Five years) and enjoy working with young children and facilitating exciting and motivating environments for them to learn and explore in.
Please feel free to stop me for a chat anytime. Connecting with families is one of the best things about working here at Bush Babies.

Christine O'Donnell

Child Care Educator

I have worked at Bush Babies since 2013 where I started my trainee-ship in the Blossom Room. I am currently studying my Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care and now work in the Gumnut Room alongside Belinda teaching the children lots of preschool and school readiness activities. It's really great to see them developing into confident little learners.

Before finding Bush Babies I have worked as a Jillaroo/farm hand in Queensland, a Bee Keeper and in plant research so I have lots of unusual skills.

When I’m not at Bush Babies you can find me playing roller derby or with my Bee Hives.

Please feel free to stop me for a chat.

Jodi Crane

Child Care Educator

I am married with two grown children aged 21 and 23 and have always lived in the mountains.
I greatly enjoyed my children as they were growing up but had forgotten what a rewarding experience it is to watch little ones grow, learn and develop into amazing human beings with their own varied and diverse personalities (and how much fun and frustration they can bring!)

I hold a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services, and work with all the children at Bush Babies but mainly in the Blossom Room. I have worked in child care for two years, all of my time being at Bush Babies Preschool.

I love working at Bush Babies and especially enjoy the friendly atmosphere and interactions with families.

Peita Handel

Child Care Educator

I moved to Katoomba from the big smoke in 2007, discovering together with my husband and two curious pups that the Blue Mountains really is the place to be.

I am currently enjoying my Diploma in Children’s Services whilst working at Bush Babies. I also love teaching pregnancy yoga and mums and bubs yoga in the upper mountains.

When I’m not in the sandpit or covered in playdough, I enjoy writing, running with my pups in local bushland and dancing. Our thriving veggie patch and fruit trees also ensure my hands get dirty when I’m home too.

I’m very excited to be working in Child Care, and feel honoured to part of your child’s life at Bush Babies.

Facilitating children’s development in a dedicated and happy place is so rewarding. We all enjoy creative playtime, collecting chicken eggs and a variety of activities programmed in preparation for big school. Bush Babies also values simply letting kids be kids.

Whist focusing on my own development as part of the Bush Babies team, I can one day see myself teaching…
